Meet Our Coaches Series: Wacey Lym
At the heart of the LEAP community isa team of experienced coaches dedicated to helping others achieve a healthy lifestyle, new fitness goals, and encouraging each client -- big or small – to unlock their full potential. Our coaches deliver guidance to inspire us all to be more joyful, healthy, and confident.
An important mission of LEAP is to promote health and fitness among the Laramie community. In achieving that goal, LEAP has incredibly knowledgeable and friendly coaches on staff. One such coach, is Wacey Lym.
Originally from Evanston, Wyo., Lym was a standout basketball player and even had a collegiate career with Eastern Wyoming College before making his way to Laramie. Now a graduate of the University of Wyoming, Lym still believes in the importance of integrating fitness into his daily routine.
Lym starts his day by coaching the 6 a.m. group fitness class where he offers a wealth of knowledge and experience in moving safely and efficiently. An avid CrossFitter, Lym is a CrossFIt Level 1 Certified Coach and has been coaching constantly varied high-intensity functional movements for over four years.
In addition to helping members learn new movements and cueing corrections for improvement, he also provides support and encouragement by working out along-side the group.
“I really enjoy coaching the 6 a.m. class because it is a great way to start my day,” says Lym. “We always workout hard and I enjoy challenging and motivating others so that they can continue to improve and reach whatever goalst hey have set for themselves.”
With members as unique and diverse as the movements in the workouts, Lym enjoys helping members tailor a workout to fit their abilities and fitness levels, in order to get the most benefit from the programmed workout at its intended stimulus.
“Each athlete is different, but it is important to me that everyone feels like they are achieving their own personal goals in a fun and friendly environment,” adds Lym. “LEAP has a family feel about it. All the members enjoy being around one another and we like pushing each other to be the best we can be.”
Speaking of family, it isn’t unusual for fitness athletes to bring other family members along to play. Members can take advantage of open gym times that run concurrently with the group fitness classes.
“We have had members take advantage of the opportunity that LEAP has to offer for both adults and children,” says Lym. “LEAP is a great place to workout as an entire family and truly has the best equipment in an awesome facility.”
LEAP invites anyone interested in a great workout and start to the day, to come ‘Rise and Grind’ with Coach Lym!
